Arsenal players apologise on social media after humiliating 5-1 loss to Liverpool

Some of Arsenal's players have taken to social media to apologise after their side's humiliating 5-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

The best was goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who posted on Facebook in characteristically straightforward fashion.

Striker Olivier Giroud was brutally honest about his own performance.

Jack Wilshere, who started in midfield, apologised to the fans.

Defender Per Mertesacker said it was a bad day for the team.

Lukas Podolski, who came on as a 60th-minute substitute, is looking ahead to another big game against Manchester United midweek.
