HBO Asia's second original series Grace, a tale of family horror, has many local stars

By Boon Chan

Many local actors, including Constance Song, Pamelyn Chee, Lim Kay Tong and Lim Yu Beng, star in Grace, HBO Asia's follow-up to its first original series Serangoon Road, which aired last year.

The new show is a four-part horror offering set in the present day in an unnamed Asian country and examines concepts of family, sacrifice and vengeance as a family suffers for a father's mistake. It premieres on Oct 17 at 10pm.

The all-Asian ensemble cast is led by US-based Russell Wong (The Joy Luck Club, 1993), who plays a doting father but unfaithful husband. Song takes on the role of his wife, with Chee playing the other woman. Other local actors in the cast include George Young, Shane Mardjuki and theatre practitioners Nora Samosir and Jean Toh.

Teresa Dale, a rising star from Taiwan who has a small role in Transformers: Age Of Extinction, is also part of the ensemble.

Grace will air in English and Mandarin, with local language subtitles in selected territories. It will be available on HBO Go one hour after it airs on HBO and on HBO On Demand the Monday after its HBO debut. The two-part finale will air on Halloween, Oct 31.
